The South Korean music scene is vibrant and fast paced, with new groups debuting constantly, and handfuls of hopeful youngsters logging grueling hours in the practice rooms, hoping for a chance to captivate the hearts of the populace through song, dance and charm. It takes more than just talent to make it in Seoul, you need the looks, personality, charisma and strength - and to make it big is an amazing feat - to stay famous even more so. Fame is fickle, and so are fans, eager to trade up for the next new thing. To stay relevant you have to stay on your toes; working long hours, putting your body and image in the hands of talented designers. These teen live and breath their passion, getting the surgeries demanded of them, taking on the image they are given, rooming with their new family (the group) in small dorms, and working tirelessly to promote themselves to the ravenous public. It's a life of tiring, ceaseless work for the mere chance of breaking into the Kiwi countdown charts. Idols are held to the highest standards, scrutinized in every aspects of their appearance and personality - can you handle the pressure?
